Joss
Stone Hated First Two Albums
1/18/08
British singer Joss Stone despised the music written on her first two
albums - because the songs didn't reflect her youthful attitude.
Stone rose to fame aged just 15 after the release of her debut record
The Soul Sessions, which was followed by 2005's Mind, Body & Soul.
But, despite the commercial success of her earlier efforts, the You Had
Me hitmaker insists she hated both albums - because they were written and
produced by "guys aged 50 and up."
The 20-year-old says, "I've never lied. I can't lie. People would
ask me in interviews, 'Hey Joss, do you like your new single?' And I'd
say, 'No!' But no one would listen. I swear I'd do hundreds of interviews
and they'd ask me about (song) Don't Cha Wanna Ride and I'd say, 'I don't
like it!'
"But it washed over them. They just said, 'Ah, bless.'"
She adds, "I mean, 'I know you got the Hummer for the summer,
baby, I got your number' - what the f**k kind of lyrics are they?"
