Kiefer Sutherland Released From Jail  1/21/08

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has been released from jail.

The 24 star - who served a 48-day sentence for drink-driving at the private Glendale City Jail - left the facility at 12:05am on Monday (21Jan08) morning.

Sutherland left the prison in the shirt and jeans he arrived in when he began the sentence on 5 December (07), and carrying the personal belongings he brought with him.

John Balian, the jail spokesperson, says, "(Kiefer) looked like he was glad to be out."

The actor was visited only by his attorney while in jail, and is reported to have had little contact with the other inmates.

In addition to the jail term, Sutherland was sentenced to five years probation and was ordered by a judge to complete an 18-month alcohol education program and six months of therapy.
