NBC’S “BIGGEST LOSER” CONTESTANTS COMPETE IN LIVELY COOK-OFF CHALLENGE
WITH FAMOUS CHEF ROCCO DISPIRITO AS THE JUDGE ON “THE BIGGEST LOSER: COUPLES,”
AIRING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5 (8-10 P.M. ET)
The Black team lost the previous weigh in and Jenn was voted off.
BURBANK – Celebrated chef and former star of
reality show The
Restaurant Rocco DiSpirito will guest star on NBC's hit weight loss
series "The Biggest Loser: Couples" on Tuesday, February 5 (8-10
p.m. ET), judging the contestants as they engage in a cook-off challenge
to prepare a tasty – but low calorie – three-course dinner for the
famous chef.
Only 11 contestants are left in the game, and this week, host Alison
Sweeney has the blue and black teams square off in a culinary challenge
that will test their ability to cook a meal that is as healthy as it is
flavorful. With the clock ticking, the two teams shop for and then prepare
an appetitizer, entrée and dessert for DiSpirito, who will then choose
the best meal based on taste, nutrition and calorie count. The winning
team gets a delicious meal prepared by DiSpirito, as well as a special
surprise from home for each of the winning contestants.
Also, one team faces a setback this week when one of their strongest
players suffers an injury that dramatically impacts his workout routine,
and another contestant gets a very welcome visit from a surprise guest. In
the elimination room, a shocking betrayal stuns the players as another
contestant is sent packing.
Recognized as one of the leading chefs of his generation, DiSpirito
recently released his latest cookbook, Rocco's Real Life Recipes: Fast
Flavor for Every Day. In 1997, DiSpirito opened Union Pacific in New York
City's Gramercy Park as chef and owner to rave reviews, and was later
named Food & Wine's "Best New Chef" in 1999, and named
"America's Most Exciting Young Chef" by Gourmet magazine in
2000. DiSpirito opened Rocco's 22nd Street in the summer of 2003,
documented on NBC's series "The Restaurant," and the second
season aired in the spring of 2004. Seen regularly on the
"Today" show, DiSpirito is the author of Flavor, Rocco's Italian
American and Rocco's 5 Minute Flavor: Fabulous Meals with 5 Ingredients in
5 Minutes. He is currently working on his next book and will soon begin
shooting a new cable television series.
Alison Sweeney is the host, and Bob Harper and
Jillian Michaels also star.
