Simon Cowell Saves Runaway Car  7/5/05

Pop mogul Simon Cowell was almost crushed by his own luxury car, when he forgot to put the brake on and it careered down the road after him.

The British American Idol judge put the automatic Bentley in neutral instead of park when he stopped on Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard - and it began rolling away as soon as he stepped out the door.

A group of teenagers had to help Cowell slow the runaway car, which miraculously escaped damage and failed to hit anyone.

As a reward Cowell gave the kids some CDs of bands signed to his record label Sony BMG.
