David and Victoria Beckham have been urged to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show by their showbiz pal Tom Cruise.

Cruise, who stunned the world with his manic floor-thumping display on the talk show queen's show in May (05), insists the Winfrey magic is exactly what the British couple need to crack America - something soccer ace Beckham is desperate to do.

An insider says, "Tom said they should definitely go on Oprah's show.

"He spoke highly of her. He's advised them to give her carte-blanche to talk about everything - including their marriage and its tribulations."
