WEST CHESTER, Pa., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Stars of ABC's
"Desperate Housewives" Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman have
joined the fight against breast cancer as the stars of new public service
announcements to promote the annual QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on
Sale" gala philanthropic event. Cross and Huffman serve as
Entertainment Industry Foundation ambassadors and will appear in both
print and television public service announcements supporting the 12th
annual QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale" gala event airing live
on electronic retailer QVC - Wednesday, October 26, 2005 from 7 PM - 10 PM
(ET). Event sponsors QVC and the Fashion Footwear Association of New York
(FFANY) will offer more than 100,000 pairs of shoes at half the suggested
retail price, with all net proceeds from the program going to leading
breast cancer research and education institutions.
Over the past decade, QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale" has
sold over one million pairs of shoes and has raised nearly $20 million for
the cause. 2005 beneficiaries include the Abramson Cancer Center of the
University of Pennsylvania; the University of Michigan Comprehensive
Cancer Center's Breast Oncology Program; the Entertainment Industry
Foundation's Women's Cancer Research Fund; the Gillette Center for Women's
Cancers at Dana-Farber Institute; the Breast Cancer Research Foundation;
the Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University and the Joyce Eisenberg
Keefer Breast Cancer Center at John Wayne Cancer Institute.
