Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson are Still Girls on Top of the US Charts  7/28/05

Mariah Carey has notched up another week at the top of the US singles chart to make it nine non-consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

The singer's We Belong Together hit the top of the charts in May (05) and spent only one week at number two, when she was displaced by American Idol star Carrie Underwood's debut Inside Your Heaven.

Meanwhile, another American Idol champion, Kelly Clarkson's amazing run at the top of the US Adult Contemporary airplay chart continues after slipping to number two last week (21JUL05).

Her Breakaway single has now spent 21 non-consecutive weeks at the top.
