Celebrity Fit Club Helps Victoria Jackson Perfect Her Look for Her Dad  7/28/05

Actress and comedienne Victoria Jackson has a reality TV show to thank for helping her gain her father's acceptance at 46.

The I Love You to Death star signed up to appear on VH1 show Celebrity Fit Club 2, alongside Gary Busey and model Toccara Jones among other stars and she had no idea she'd be successful in shedding the pounds.

The former Saturday Night Live regular has always battled her weight and was taunted by her perfectionist dad throughout her childhood for piling on the pounds.

But, after losing a heap of weight on the show, Jackson's father has eventually accepted his daughter looks perfect.

She says, "I did the show out of anger and revenge."

Jackson admits her lowest point came when her dad reminded her of her weight problem while he was in hospital recovering from a heart attack.

She recalls, "I'm waiting by my dad's bedside in hospital for six hours, thinking he could die, so everything we say now is very meaningful.

"He turns to me and says, 'You are fat. You should be on one of those shows for obese people.'"

Jackson reveals she urged her dad to stop poking fun at her weight when she last met him, and he declared she looked like sexy movie icon Marilyn Monroe.
