Jessica Simpson's assistant CaCee Cobb has publicly thanked law enforcers for catching a woman who scammed $12,000 worth of fashion and beauty products by pretending to be her.

Courtney Handel, of New Jersey, was arrested on Friday (22JUL05) after it was discovered she had told a number of companies that she was Cobb in an effort to procure free gifts.

And Cobb, 25, is thrilled that Handel's deceptive efforts have ended in failure.

She says, "Jessica and I feel terrible for the generous people who thought they were doing something nice when they were really being ripped off.

"I'm very grateful to the police for putting a stop to it. It's a horrible feeling knowing someone has used your name."
