Johnny Depp Honored in Paris  7/9/06

Johnny Depp was awarded Paris' highest honor when he premiered his Pirates of the Caribbean sequel in the French capital on Thursday night (06JUL06).

The movie hunk was presented with the Grand Medaille de Vermeil by Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe.

The honor is awarded to those who demonstrate devotion to the city.

Proud Depp, who attended the premiere with his French girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, said, "This country itself, the city itself has been very kind to me.

It introduced me to my beautiful girl Vanessa, gave me two beautiful kids - (it) doesn't get better than that."
