Gene Simmons Shows Off Strict Parenting Skills  7/17/06

KISS bassist Gene Simmons is incredibly strict with his children, but insists his rules are reasonable because he lives by them as well.

Simmons and longtime love Shannon Tweed have two children, Nick, 17, and Sophie, 14 and the entire family is starring in the new US cable network A&E reality series Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

He explains, "Our responsibility is to protect our kids, supply the money and the structure and the love. Their job is to do well in school and behave, period.

"This notion of parents having to go negotiate with their children who just learned to wipe their butts is out of the question."

Tweed says, "We focus more on the important things in life, like your school work. The kids have their priorities straight - staying sober and paying attention."

Simmons practices what he preaches adding, "I've never been high, drunk, never smoked in my life."
