Dave Navarro Speaks Out About Split With Carmen Electra  7/20/06

Dave Navarro has slammed reports he already has a new girlfriend, less than 24 hours after he and wife Carmen Electra announced they were splitting.

Internet reports on Tuesday (18JUL06) linked the former Jane's Addiction guitarist with socialite Sarah Howard and claimed they were practically living together after secretly dating for five months.

Navarro has hit back at the rumors on this official blog, posting a message that said, "So, there are a few questions that I am willing to address. These I'll answer, but I am not taking any others.

"I figure it's better to say something here than anywhere else. Do you have a girlfriend? No.

"I have been living at home, touring, making and promoting a record or shooting Rock Star for the past several months. There is absolutely no way I could be living with someone in New York.

"What does amicably separated mean? It means that Carmen and I love each other, we are and always will be best friends. In fact, we are supporting each other through this time.

"What better way to get through a tough spot than with your best friend? And that's that. (For now)."

The couple have been married since 2003 and starred in an MTV reality series which was based around their wedding ceremony.
