Jamie Dornan Blames Own Failings for Keira Knightley  7/24/06

Calvin Klein model Jamie Dornan knew his romance with Keira Knightley was doomed to fail because he felt "second rate" compared to her Hollywood stardom.

Dornan, who currently features in advertisements with supermodel Kate Moss, dated Pirates of the Caribbean beauty Knightley for two years before they split last year (05).

And he accepts he was to blame for their parting, but he is delighted they have managed to become firm friends.

The 23-year-old says, "If the person you are in a relationship with has more power in terms of occupation, they don't want you to know they feel like that."

"They don't want to think, 'Oh, he must find it really awkward because I make loads of money.' So, you have to try to keep that to yourself and still be the man in the whole thing, which I didn't do very well."

Knightley is currently dating her Pride & Prejudice co-star Rupert Friend.
