MATT AND EMILY RECONSIDER THEIR RELATIONSHIP WHILE SOLVING A CASE INVOLVING DUELING SPOUSES ON “STANDOFF” FRIDAY, JULY 20, ON FOX

Matt and Emily hurry to resolve a hostage situation in which a recently fired corporate executive holds 16 hostages in the company’s boardroom. The team stages an argument while engaged in negotiations with Finch to cover for a breach operation, ending the case without casualties. 

Inspired by the excitement of that case, Emily and Matt share a brief passionate moment, but afterward decide to remain just friends and request a reassignment of duties. Matt takes the lead in the next case, in which a self-made millionaire producer and his wife are accusing one another of infidelity and have each taken a hostage. 

Cheryl calls in Emily as the domestic barricade situation in Woodland Hills, CA, begins to boil. The spouses continue to battle over their business and marriage, but Matt and Emily ultimately help the couple reconcile. 

Meanwhile, Matt and Emily begin to see the parallels between their own relationship and the one involved in the case, leaving them questioning their separation in the “Severance” episode of STANDOFF airing Friday, July 20 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (SOF-118) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)
