The stars of American Idol have landed their own jeans line.

The TV talent show's bosses at FreeMantle Media have struck a new deal with Lyric Jeans to create a lyric-inspired American Idol branded apparel line for department stores.

The initial Lyric Jeans-American Idol collection will focus on the contemporary juniors and girls market and expand into other areas, including children's wear.

The new jeans will feature lyrics made famous by The Beatles, Janis Joplin, David Bowie, Marvin Gaye and The Bee Gees printed on them.
