THE TOP 10 DANCERS COMPETE ON THE NEXT PERFORMANCE SHOW WEDNESDAY, JULY
25, ON FOX
MIKA TO PERFORM ON THE LIVE RESULTS SHOW THURSDAY, JULY 26
The summer hit SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was a powerhouse this week,
with performances by the Top 12 finalists on Wednesday and a musical
performance last night by Enrique Iglesias.
The three couples who received the fewest votes after Wednesday’s
performance show were: Anya Garnis and Danny Tidwell; Jaimie Goodwin and
Hok Konishi; and Lauren Gottlieb and Neil Haskell. After each of the six
dancers performed a solo routine, the judges eliminated Garnis and Konishi
from the competition, ending their quest to become America’s favorite
dancer. Garnis, 25, is a Latin Ballroom dancer from New York, NY; and
Konishi, 22, is a B-boy dancer from Los Angeles, CA. Also last night,
Enrique Iglesias performed the hit single “Somebody’s Me” from his
latest CD, “Insomniac.”
Next week, the remaining 10 finalists (Kameron Bink, Jaimie Goodwin,
Lauren Gottlieb, Neil Haskell, Sabra Johnson, Pasha Kovalev, Dominic
Sandoval, Lacey Schwimmer, Danny Tidwell and Sara Von Gillern) compete
again on the performance show Wednesday, July 25 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on
FOX. The competition on television’s hottest show will change next week
as only viewers’ votes will determine which guy and which girl are
eliminated. After a special performance by Mika, America’s vote will be
revealed, and two more dancers will go home on the live results show
Thursday, July 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). Mika will
perform “Love Today” from his “Life in Cartoon Motion” CD.
Beirut-born Mika and his family lived in Paris and Kuwait and
eventually settled in London. A self-taught piano virtuoso, Mika is a
songwriter, performer, producer and orchestrator. He started singing as a
boy and, with the help of his Russian voice trainer, obtained a wide range
of professional gigs, from recordings with the Royal Opera House to the
Orbit chewing gum jingle. “Live in Cartoon Motion,” his debut pop
album, is brimming with brightly hued melody, engaging hooks and a
distinctive lyrical style.
Emmy-nominated SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller
