"Big Brother 8" Tuesday and Thursday Editions Post
Week-to-Week Gains in Viewers and Key Demographics
CBS placed first in viewers for the seventh time in eight weeks this
summer on the strength of rebroadcasts of its dramas and comedies and
week-to-week gains for BIG BROTHER 8, according to Nielsen Live Plus
same-day ratings for the week ending July 22, week 44 of the 2006-2007
television season.
CBS Weekly Highlights:
BIG BROTHER 8 TUESDAY was second in households (4.5/08), viewers
(7.02m), adults 25-54 (3.1/08), adults 18-49 (2.9/08) and adults 18-34
(2.3/08). Compared to the time period premiere last week, BIG BROTHER 8
TUESDAY was up +3% in both viewers (from 6.82m) and adults 25-54 (from
3.0/08), +12% in adults 18-49 (from 2.6/07), +21% in adults 18-34 (from
1.9/06) and even in households.
BIG BROTHER 8 THURSDAY was first in adults 25-54 (3.1/10), adults 18-49
(2.7/09), second in households (4.7/09), viewers (6.98m) and adults 18-34
(1.9/07). Compared to last Thursday, BIG BROTHER 8 THURSDAY was up +15% in
both households (from 4.1/08) and adults 25-54 (from 2.7/09), +23% in
adults 18-49 (from 2.2/08), +27% in adults 18-34 (from 1.5/06) and added
+980,000 viewers (from 6.00m, +16%).
BIG BROTHER 8 SUNDAY (4.1/08, 6.30m) was first in adults 25-54
(2.8/08), second in adults 18-49 (2.4/08, -0.1 behind ABC). Compared to
last Sunday, BIG BROTHER 8 SUNDAY was even in households, adults 25-54,
adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 (1.8/07).
This week on BIG BROTHER 8, Head of Household Dick Donato
nominated Kail and Jen for eviction during the nomination ceremony.
Kail's alliance with Mike, Nick and Zach has effectively been
disbanded.
On BIG BROTHER 8 airing Tuesday, July 24 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT),
Houseguests will compete for the Power of Veto. Kail or Jen can be
saved from the chopping block if they, or another Houseguest, wins the
Power of Veto competition and chooses to save one of the nominees, while
giving themselves immunity from nomination. If they choose to use the veto
power, the Head of Household must immediately choose another
nominee.
This week's live eviction show, hosted by Julie Chen, will be broadcast
on Thursday, July 26 (8:00-9:00 PM live ET/delayed PT).
