JK Rowling Proud Harry Potter's Fate Was Kept Secret  7/27/07

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is proud she was able to fool fans into believing she would kill off her hero in the final book.

Up until the seventh installment hit store shelves on Saturday (21Jul07), devotees of the fantasy series feared the boy wizard would meet his untimely end.

And Rowling takes pride that she was able to keep the biggest secret in the world.

She says, "I'm very proud of the fact that as we went into this book, many, many readers thought it was a real possibility that Harry would die. That's what I was aiming for, that everyone was up for grabs."
