JK Rowling Hates The Number 34 7/30/07

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has come to hate the number 34 after sobbing over Chapter 34 in her latest book, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows.

The British writer won't reveal why that section of the final Potter book was so harrowing - but admits she struggled with it.

She says, "The passage that I found hardest to write of all, in all seven books... was Chapter 34 in this book.

"That was partly because of the content and partly because it had been planned for so long... and to write the definitive version felt like a huge climax."
