Computer giant Apple has no right to sell Eminem's music, according to a new lawsuit filed by the rapper's music publisher.

The suit, filed on Monday (30Jul07) in the U.S. District Court in Detroit, accuses Apple of violating copyright by selling Eminem tracks through its download service iTunes.

Eminem's music publisher and copyright manager, Eight Mile Style and Martin Affiliated, insist Apple isn't permitted to sell his music because the rapper has not granted his label, Universal, the right to authorize downloads.

Apple has been asked to stop selling Eminem's tracks but has so far refused, the suit claims.

Eminem previously sued Apple in 2004 after the company used his song Lose Yourself in an iTunes TV commercial. The advert was never released.
