The Game Apologizes Over Eminem 'Slur' 7/25/08

Rapper The Game has denied attacking his pal Eminem in a new track leaked online - insisting his lyrics have been misinterpreted.

The single My Life, from his forthcoming L.A.X. album, is a collaboration with Lil Wayne. He was rumored to be referring to Eminem and his 2002 movie 8 Mile, in the line: "

All the pictures of me and Em, I burned them / So there isn't no proof I walked through 8 Mile." But the Dreams hitmaker is adamant that the song is not a slur on Eminem - insisting it is about his relationship with late D12 rapper Proof, who was shot dead in his native Detroit, Michigan in April 2006.

The Game tells AllHipHop.com, "When I originally wrote the song My Life, I was trying to think back on events that affected my life and how they changed me. I remember when Proof died vividly and now every time I think about going to Detroit I get depressed.

"That is what I was trying to say in that verse and the more I looked at it I realized that people would take it the wrong way…the way they are taking it now that it leaked."

The Game has now changed the song - scrapping the controversial lyrics - and apologized for any offence his words may have caused.

Referring to the leaked tune, he adds, "This is not the version on my album, this is not the version that radio will get. Furthermore, I apologize to anyone who took this the wrong way as that was never my intention."
