Smith 'Confirms' Jennifer Garner's Pregnancy 7/27/08

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's close pal Kevin Smith has confirmed the Hollywood couple is expecting their second child. Director/actor Smith, who worked with Garner for 2006's Catch and Release, learned about the happy news earlier this month (Jul08), after longtime friend Affleck paid a visit to his home.

He tells People.com, "I saw him last week. Ben came over to watch my movie (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) at the house, and he told me, 'We're having another baby.' "I guess they are looking for a bigger place now."

Affleck and Garner - who already have a two-year-old daughter, Violet - were spotted house-hunting in Los Angeles last week (21Jul08), with the Elektra star struggling to hide a distinctive baby bump. And Smith is delighted for the couple because they are natural parents.

He adds, "(Garner) is such a Martha Stewart type. She is a perfect mum. And (Affleck) is a great dad, which I found not that surprising, but it's a side of him that I never thought about before he became a dad. He's a great father.

He loves that kid of his." Garner's former Alias co-star Victor Garber was the first person to reportedly let slip the couple is expanding their family - but he later insisted he had no idea if the actress was pregnant and that his comments had been taken out of context.
