Shia LaBeouf 'Not At Fault' For Car Smash 7/29/08

Police have ruled Shia LaBeouf wasn't at fault for the weekend (27Jul08) car crash that left him in hospital with a hand injury - the other motorist drove through a red light.

The 22-year-old Transformers star was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after his truck collided with another vehicle and flipped across a road in Hollywood on Sunday (27Jul08).

He is due in court next month to face a misdemeanor DUI charge, but he won't be charged with any further motoring offences. After an investigation, the Los Angeles Sheriff's office has announced the motorist LaBeouf hit was responsible for the smash.

A spokesperson tells TMZ.com LaBeouf "was not at fault". The Transformers star remains in hospital after undergoing surgery on his hand following the smash, although his lawyers insist he'll be back working on the Transformers 2 set within a month.

He was visited at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Tuesday (29Jul08) by his mother Shayna, who told reporters, "He's doing fine."
