Renee Zellweger Thrilled With Love Letters  6/1/05

Renee Zellweger poured over touching love letters Depression Era boxing champ Jim Braddock wrote to his wife Mae to prepare for her role as the struggling fighter's wife in Cinderella Man.

The Oscar - winning actress was thrilled when she discovered there were over 100 letters in existence, and couldn't believe how romantic the couple were. 

She says, "It's just rare that you have that sort of access to material like that to understand these people. "It's so interesting to look at this man who's so strong and tenacious and determined and watch him be so poetic and nostalgic. "He wrote her nearly every day while he was on the road."
