Vin Diesel's College Nightmare  6/9/05

Action star Vin Diesel had to battle against the scathing attitudes of his fellow students at college - as they poured scorn on his hopes of Hollywood success. The Chronicles of Riddick superstar was determined to set the movie world alight with his talent, and ditched his studies when he realized the negativity of his peers was holding him back. 

He tells British movie magazine Empire, "One of the exercises in my journalism class was to write your own obituary. "Mine said: 'He's had a rich life and he's changed the face of Hollywood, he is the first multicultural...' "Anyway, next morning the teacher asks me to read it out. "When I'm done everyone's looking at me like I should be committed, like, 'This guy has lost it, he's really delusional...' "I knew then that I had to leave college and go for broke."
