Hilary Duff Get a Hole in Her Eardrum  6/14/05

Teen star Hilary Duff has become so ill from jetting around the US she's had a hole poked in her eardrum so she can continue to fly.

The 17-year-old singer and actress has been flying in and out of varied climates, which has left her nursing a bad cold.

She says, "I've been traveling a lot. I was in New York and then I went to

(Washington) DC and then coming back (to Los Angeles).

"The weather there's really hot and humid and then I got on the plane and I couldn't even breathe or talk and I had to get like a needle poked through my eardrum so it would relieve pressure because I have to fly at like six o'clock in the morning.

"Not exciting. I've had a very adventurous day."
