'P Diddy Rejected Vonzell on Making the Band 2  6/14/05

Rap mogul Sean 'P Diddy' Combs has been stunned to learn that a singing hopeful he rejected from his show Making the Band 2 ended up placed third on the latest season of American Idol.

Vonzell Solomon was ejected from American Idol last month (MAY05), a week before Carrie Underwood beat Bo Bice to be crowned the TV contest's new victor.

But Combs admits that Solomon vied for a spot on his show in 2003, but failed to make the cut.

He says, "I don't actually remember her, but I know that she's a great talent and for Making the Band 2 I was making a rap group.

"She didn't make the cut but she kept going on and that's a great thing."

Solomon is currently "working" on landing a record deal.
