Finals
Performance To Be Televised on ABC Thursday, June 16 With Coverage
Beginning at 8:30 PM (ET)
DETROIT, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly crowned American Idol Carrie
Underwood will perform the U.S. national anthem at the Palace of Auburn
Hills prior to Game 4 of The Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and
Detroit Pistons on Thursday, June 14. ABC will televise her performance in
the U.S. and to more than 205 countries. Coverage will begin 8:30 p.m.
(ET).
Carrie Underwood -- America's newest singing sensation -- is the
22-year- old from Oklahoma who recently rose to prominence by winning the
fourth season of American Idol. Her performance at The Finals will
coincide with the release of her debut single "Inside Your
Heaven." Her first full-length album will be released by 19
Recordings/Arista Records this fall. She will also be appearing throughout
the summer on the AMERICAN IDOL TOUR, which tips off July 12.
Competing for the coveted Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy, the Spurs
have a 2-0 series lead in The Finals, which tipped off June 9. ABC Sports
is the exclusive home of The Finals with Emmy Award-winning broadcasting
Legend Al Michaels and basketball Hall of Famer Hubie Brown calling the
action. The Finals are also televised in 205 countries in 45 languages
with the schedule continuing as follows: GAME 3 - Tuesday, June 14 @ 8:30
p.m. (ET); GAME 4 - Thursday, June 16 @ 8:30 p.m. (ET); GAME 5* - Sunday,
