Hurley Plans Elephant Entry in Traditional Indian Wedding
6/16/05
Actress Elizabeth Hurley is embracing her fiancé Arun Nayar's Hindu
beliefs - she's planning to arrive at their February (06) wedding riding
an elephant and wearing a red sari.
The Estee Lauder model's lavish ceremony is inspired by Nayar's brother
Nikhil's extravagant wedding to Samantha Carmichael three years ago (02)
and is expected to be a two-week extravaganza, reports British newspaper
The Daily Mirror. And Hurley has become a big fan of elephants since
last year (04), when she and textile tycoon Nayar arrived at his 40th
birthday bash a big-eared beast.
A close friend says, "Liz has made up her mind that she wants an
Indian princess-style wedding. She loves the colorful traditions of the
country and wants to embrace them. "She is keen to involve elephants
in some way and hopes to arrive on one - but it depends on logistics and
whether it actually fits in with the ceremony. "Her plans are very
much in the early stages but she has a very clear idea of what she wants.
It will be a spectacular affair with no expense spared to show the world
how much she loves Arun." |
