Deborah Gibson Rejects Hit Me Baby One More Time Offer  6/16/05

Deborah Gibson snubbed the chance of another face-off with her 1980s chart rival Tiffany, by rejecting a spot on the new TV contest Hit Me Baby One More Time.

In the show - an import to the US from the UK - former chart-toppers such as A Flock of Seagulls, Cece Peniston and Vanilla Ice perform in a competition to win cash for their chosen charities.

And while I Think We're Alone Now singer Tiffany gladly accepted a spot in the contest, Gibson declined.

She explains, "It didn't fit my need. But Tiffany did great!"

Tiffany and Gibson teamed up on Sunday (12JUN05) to perform at the close of Los Angeles' Gay Pride Festival.
