Politicians Fume Over Nude Big Brother
6/22/05
The Australian version of reality TV phenomenon Big Brother has caused
an uproar after contestants stripped naked live on air.
The series, which has boasted frequent nudity and sexy hot-tub antics,
has been slammed as "pornography" by local politicians who are
now reviewing how much bare flesh can be shown on television.
Government official Trish Draper fumes, "What we basically have is
pornography and full frontal nudity on television at a time when children
are watching.
"These people have an aspiration to be porn stars."
But recently ousted participant Michelle Carew-Gibson has hit back,
saying, "You put 15 sexually active people in the house who obviously
enjoy sex and are young, it is going to happen.
"We are bored and we are going to do things."
