Shania Twain Wins Development Permission on New Zealand Farm  6/30/05

Shania Twain and her producer husband Robert "Mutt" Lange have won their battle to revamp their sheep farm in New Zealand after a year-long battle with local authorities.

The pop couple have been given permission to build a compound on the farm near Lake Wanaka in the South Island, despite complaints from locals that the planned development would not blend in with the surrounding landscape.

Queenstown Lakes District Council approved the development earlier this week (beg27JUN05), which gives the couple permission to build on the 61,000-acre estate.
