Lord of the Rings Star Turns to Music  6/7/06

The Lord of the Rings star Billy Boyd is taking a break from acting to pursue a career in rock.

The Scottish actor, who played Pippin in the blockbuster trilogy, insists music has always been his number one priority.

Now, following the April (06) birth of his son Jack, Boyd is keen to stay at home to write new tracks for his band Angels Share.

He says, "I've always been in bands and written songs, even before I was an actor. That was my first love and still is.

"Because I've just become a father to my wee boy Jack I've been spending a lot of time with my family.

"It's given me even more time to concentrate on writing."
