Dannii: Talking About Kylie's Cancer Battle is Painful  6/23/06

Kylie Minogue's singer sister Dannii has asked people to stop asking her about the pop superstar's recent battle with breast cancer, because it is such a painful memory for her.

Doctors gave Kylie the all-clear in March (06), and a grateful Dannii now wants to look forward positively to the future.

She says, "I get fed up talking about bad times. Now it's a happy time, she is better and the nightmare is over. So let's all accept that it's over and let's all rejoice that she is better.

"I think it's made every woman more conscious about breast cancer but I really don't want to become a spokesman for breast cancer awareness.

"I just wanted to be a good sister and I'm only just coming out of that mode of protecting, caring, supporting and being there.

"I had to get my head around it all too, but the most important thing is that everyone stops talking about it.

"I know other people who have had cancer in their families and after a while they just don't want to talk about it. You don't want to talk about it every second of every day.

"Once it's over, let it go. I like to live in the moment. Now I want to move on."
