JK Rowling Considers Pottercide 6/27/06 British author JK Rowling is considering killing Harry Potter off in her seventh and final book about the boy wizard and his life at magical school Hogwarts. The 40-year-old is concerned the enchanted schoolboy, who has become a movie icon following the huge success of her fantasy novels, could be exploited if she leaves the franchise open-ended. She says, "Killing him would mean that after I'm dead they won't be able to bring him back. "I'm not going to commit myself though - I don't want the hate mail."
