Hilary Duff Dumped Bad Friends  6/28/06

Singer/actress Hilary Duff was forced to get rid of some of her friends after they continued to betray her.

The Why Not? singer decided she needed to surround herself with a strong support system after catching close friends repeatedly lying to her.

She explains, "They would lie to me, and I'd keep catching them and finally I thought, 'Why am I having these people around?'

"It's hard to say, 'Ok, I don't want to be your friend anymore. I'm kicking you out of my life', but slowly, over time, I did it."

Now that she has a positive support system surrounding her, she also has more time for herself.

She adds, "I got to do a lot of soul searching, and I feel like a happier person. It's important to be able to be alone with yourself."
