Britney Spears Leaving Malibu for Louisiana  6/30/06

Pop superstar Britney Spears is leaving the star-studded beaches of Malibu, California for a quieter life in her native Louisiana.

The pregnant singer is reportedly moving back to her home state in an attempt to save her troubled marriage.

She is planning to upgrade her mother's home in Kentwood, Louisiana, according to local mayor Harold Smith.

Spears is planning to spend a reported $200,000 to add several rooms to her mother Lynne's house. She wants to make sure there is a nursery and extra rooms for her baby son Sean Preston.

The 24-year-old is also looking to buy a second home for husband Kevin Federline, so he can escape once in awhile should his mother-in-law become too much for him to handle.

Mayor Smith tells website The Scoop, "She wants to come home. She's building more rooms for her growing family. She wants a nursery and some kids' rooms."

An insider adds, "He (Kevin) likes Lynne but doesn't like her getting involved in their relationship."
