Perry Ferrell: "Dave Navarro's Rock Star Show Split Jane's Addiction"  6/1/07

Rocker Perry Ferrell has blamed band mate Dave Navarro's reality TV talent contest Rock Star for breaking up Jane's Addiction.

The front man reveals the group fell apart when guitarist Navarro started co-hosting the reality series, which found singers for INXS and Tommy Lee super group Rock Star: Supernova.

Farrell admits he "just couldn't believe it" when Navarro announced he was fronting a mainstream TV show.

He says, "Rock 'n' roll has never been about kissing ass and a contest. You know, rock 'n' roll is self-expression. It's defiance. It's freedom."
