Harry
Potter Land an "M" Rating Down Under
6/15/07
Harry Potter's new movie has been deemed unsuitable for young fans by
the Australian censor.
The country's Office of Film and Literature Classification has slapped
an 'M' rating on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, claiming some
scenes, featuring "moderate fantasy" and "violence"
are unsuitable for kids.
It's the second film in the Harry Potter series to be given the 'M'
classification.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was also given the rating in
2004, but that ruling was overturned following an appeal by the film's
distributor, Roadshow Films.
According to insiders, movie executives are not expected to contest the
'M' rating this time around.
