Hacker Posts Harry Potter Spoiler  6/23/07

A computer hacker has vowed to shock Harry Potter fans - by posting the alleged 'ending' to the final installment of the boy wizard series online.

The anonymous book-leaker - known only as Gabriel - claims to have obtained a digital copy of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows after breaking into a computer at Bloomsbury Publishing in London.

Posting on website InSecure.org, Gabriel writes, "We make this spoiler to make reading of the upcoming book useless and boring."

A representative for Bloomsbury declined to comment on the alleged security breach, but Kyle Good, of the book's U.S. distributor Scholastic, insists fans should be skeptical about the accuracy of the hacker's 'ending' prior to the book's official release on 21 July (07).

He says, "There is a whole lot of junk flying around. Consider this one more theory."

In 2005, two people were charged after allegedly attempting to sell a leaked copy of sixth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, to British newspaper The Sun a month before its official release.
