Nicole Richie Slams Her Eating Disorder Reputation  6/28/07

The Simple Life star Nicole Richie has hit out at her image as the face of eating disorders, insisting she has never starved herself.

The 25-year-old socialite is tired of stories about her rumored eating disorders and hates the fact her slender frame is always held up as undesirable in the media.

Richie, who sought counseling for help to gain weight last year (06), insists she's just naturally thin.

She tells U.S. magazine Nylon, "It's really sad how obsessed America is with weight. It's sick.

"I've never gone a day without putting food in my mouth. I've never sewn my mouth shut. I've never gone on a liquid diet.

"So I want to know why I'm the face for a problem."
