Will Smith Scared Of Anti- Action Films 6/20/08

Will Smith is reluctant to star in movies that aren't big-budget blockbusters - because he's not sure if such projects would succeed in the box office.

The actor has made a name for himself with lead roles in high-grossing action and sci-fi hits like Men In Black and Independence Day. And he admits he is afraid to stray from his trademark genre in favor of more dramatic films.

He says, "I fear that if I don't do that 'Will Smith' thing, then it won't be successful." But the 39-year-old is confident his best work on the big screen is yet to come. He adds: "I think the next four or five years are going to be my innovative prime."
