Anna Nicole Smith's Lingerie Sells to Larry Birkhead At Vegas Auction 6/23/08

Anna Nicole Smith's former lover Larry Birkhead forked out nearly $3,000 (£1,500) for lingerie the late star once wore for a Playboy pinup shoot as a keepsake for their daughter Danielynn.

Photojournalist Birkhead bought a pink bustier for $1,800 (£900) and a white negligee for $1,000 (£500) at a Las Vegas Auction on Saturday (21Jun08).

Birkhead said he is trying to ensure the pair's one-year-old daughter has tangible memories to remember her late mother by at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino event, run by Julien's Auctions.

He says, "I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn't really know about. Playboy was such a big part of Anna's career." The tot's mum, model/actress Smith, died from an accidental overdose last February (07).
