Eighties pop star-turned-American Idol judge Paula Abdul is keen to end her legal spat with a hit and run victim after paying him $775.

The Straight Up star has been charged with a hit and run misdemeanor after allegedly failing to stop when her Mercedes clipped another car on a Los Angeles freeway back in December (04).

And now Abdul hopes her payment to the driver whose car she hit will keep the battle from going further than Los Angeles' traffic court.

If her victim decides to press on with charges, the singer could face a six-month jail spell and a $1,000 fine.
