Revlon Spokeswoman Halle Berry to Host 12th Annual Revlon Run/Walk for
Women in Los Angeles
Desperate Housewife Marcia Cross Set to Co-Host the May 7th Event
LOS ANGELES, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, May 7, Revlon
Spokeswoman and Academy Award(R) Winner Halle Berry along with
"Desperate Housewives" star, Marcia Cross, and more than 50,000
participants will meet at the Los Angeles Coliseum for the 12th annual
Revlon Run/Walk For Women. Presented by the Entertainment Industry
Foundation (EIF), the Revlon Run/Walk For Women raises critical funds to
support women's cancer research, counseling and outreach programs in the
Los Angeles area and nationwide.
Co-chaired by Ellen Barkin and Ronald O. Perelman and Lilly Tartikoff,
the Revlon Run/Walk For Women continues to garner tremendous support not
only among Anglenos, but also residents from across the Southern
California region. Among the largest 5K events in the nation, the Revlon
Run/Walks in New York and Los Angeles have raised approximately $32
million dollars in funds since first launching in L.A. eleven years ago.
"The people of the City of Los Angeles have shown such a huge
commitment to this important cause by coming out every year and supporting
the Revlon Run/Walk and fighting the battle against women's cancers,"
says Ronald O. Perelman, chairman of Revlon, Inc., co-founder of the
Run/Walk and co-founder of the Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research
Program. "The resources that are now available as a result of their
support for the Run/Walk have allowed for significant advancement in
education and research for this disease that affects so many women."
Proceeds from past Revlon Run/Walks have funded research contributing
to the development of important new therapies, such as Herceptin(R), the
first in the wave of new targeted cancer treatments. Funds have also
helped numerous organizations in providing education, advocacy and
outreach services to those affected by women's cancers.
Los Angeles area beneficiaries for 2005 include: The Revlon/UCLA
Women's Cancer Research Program; National Women's Cancer Research Alliance
(NWCRA); The Wellness Community; WIN Against Breast Cancer; USC/Norris
Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital Ovarian & Breast Cancer

"There is such a profound network of support here in this amazing
city. Every year we are humbled by the growing number of people that come
out and join us in the fight against women's cancers. We have made huge
strides in the battle but have a long way to go until we find a
cure," adds Lilly Tartikoff, event co-founder and co-founder of the
Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research Program. "Every single person
that joins us in the Run/Walk is a gift to all of us."
The Revlon Run/Walk For Women in Los Angeles was created in 1993
through the combined efforts of the Entertainment Industry Foundation,
Lilly Tartikoff, Ronald O. Perelman and The Davis Group. "From the
beginning, the entertainment community has shown enormous support in
helping raise the funds crucial for research and awareness to help
women," stated Lisa Paulsen, CEO of the Entertainment Industry
Foundation. "It has been a pleasure to witness the tremendous growth
of this event over the past eleven years to now incorporate both Los
Angeles and New York."
