Jessica Simpson's Mother Praises Divorce Decision  3/11/06

Jessica Simpson's staunchly Christian mother Tina has praised the singer for filing for divorce from Nick Lachey, insisting ending a marriage takes a lot of bravery.

The Dukes of Hazzard star devastated fans of her reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica when she announced the split last November (05), but her supportive mother insists she should follow her heart.

Tina Simpson says, "It took a lot of strength to know what she wanted to do and divorce Nick. For any person, it's a difficult thing to do.

"But I always tell my girls to trust their instincts because women have an innate sense of things."
