American
Idol March 15th “A Parallel Universe” 3/16/06
By Marcus
After a campfire sing along
with the twelve hopefuls hawking a Ford, Stevie Wonder showed them and us
true creative genius in the music business. After that, it was time to
reveal the outcome of 30+ million votes. The three lowest scorers were
announced and this is my recap:
The first to walk to the chopping block was Ace. Someone stacked
the deck against this tasty hunk of a singer. He isn’t the best male
vocalist in the group but with his “come to me, darling” bedroom eyes
and dangerous smile, and with just a little more polishing, he could be
the whole package. There is no way he should be even close to the bottom
three.
Then the “oh, am I suppose to remember all the words to the
song?” Melissa did her walk to the block. This was not a surprise to her
or to us. She just didn’t shine when she had the chance. She missed the
big-time and has no one to blame but herself. Will she continue singing
somewhere else? Of course. But she will never be a major hit and will soon
be forgotten even as a contestant.
Finally Lisa was called to do the block walk. This is madness. This
is the result of a psychotic populace delusional with inability to
separate the reality of this incredible dynamic WOW singer for the baby
check wobble of Kevin. It was an insult for Lisa to be there. There is a
parallel universe out there and they have been allotted too many cell
phones. Come back to sanity, my friends.
But tonight only the bottom road sweeper was given the brush-off
and it was Melissa. Both Ace and Lisa were given a second chance. And come
next week, they will have to powerful, dynamic and exciting to come up in
the votes.
Did I mention that Kevin should have walked the block walk?
