American Idol, March 23, 2006 “Gone and NOT Missed”

            America voted the on the eleven hopefuls and the bottom three were no surprise:

Bucky, Lisa, and Kevin. That was expected. But who would be kicked off? Bucky with his ponytail hair? Lisa who is making her comeback? Or that poster child for “please, don’t let my son look like him” Kevin.

            Thankfully the voters settled down to the hard task of picking an idol. Not just voting on a passing amusement but someone who will be the next pharaoh of the music world. And the voters correctly identified Kevin as the next to be booted off and sent him home packing. And that decision did not arrive one day too soon. I am sure that he will soon be entertaining Mrs. Beck’s Fifth Grade Girl’s Glee Club and who knows, when his face and body mature, he could be singing to the local homeless shelter for waifs. See ya later, Kevin…..don’t call us, we will send you a letter with postage due.

            What happened to Bucky? Rather than moving us and exciting us with vocals and talent, he has become as flat as a lonesome highway heading nowhere.  And unless he jazzes up his presentation and takes us on a scenic route, he will be packing his saddle bags and plodding back home to his corral.

            Poor Lisa. She has regained her composure and has rediscovered her talent. But, it is too late? For her, each night on stage must be like lightning crashing against the ragged night sky. She has to ignite the audience and never again falter for even a single twinkle of a second.

            Did I mention how relieved we are that Kevin is no more?
