OLN TO AIR A SPECIAL NHL-THEMED “SURVIVOR CUP” MARATHON FEATURING
THE BIGGEST FACE-OFFS, POWERPLAYS AND SAVES IN SERIES’ HISTORY
Network Chronicles Struggle for Sole Survivor As Battle for the NHL
Playoffs Heats Up
STAMFORD, CT – This April, as fans across the country prepare for one
of the most intense rivalries in sports with the onset of the NHL
playoffs, OLN will show its support to the players journeying on the quest
for the Stanley Cup, holding a special 9-hour “Survivor Cup” marathon
of episodes that represent the best Face-Offs, biggest Power Plays and
Greatest Saves throughout the series’ history, in the castaways’
pursuit of the title of Sole Survivor. This special marathon is one of
several new hockey-themed programs OLN will be airing as the network
concludes the regular NHL season and prepares for wall-to-wall playoff
action.
From 7 to 10 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesdays, April 5-19, viewers will witness
three special episodes, taken from Seasons I through IX, that epitomize
that night’s theme as 16 tribe members are challenged to outwit, outlast
and outplay one another for the chance to win $1 million. Kicking-off the
marathon is the best fights and arguments, or Face-Offs, of Survivor, from
a brawl over beans to a clash over chickens. On Wednesday, April 12, fans
will witness the biggest Power Plays, or back-stabbing, of the series,
including cunning alliances, broken promises and an unconscionable move
for love. The marathon comes to a close on April 19, two days before the
NHL playoffs begin on OLN, with the Greatest Saves in Survivor history, as
the network chronicles the tribe mates who overcame elimination to become
viable contenders in the quest for the title of Sole Survivor.
