Actress Leslie Ann Warren is dreaming up ways to kill off her Desperate Housewives character because she fears she'll have to quit the show if her new TV drama is a hit.

The Secretary star plays Teri Hatcher's mother Sophie Bremmer on the hit show, but she has given creator Marc Cherry notice after landing a leading role in new drama In Plain Sight.

She explains, "I'm doing a pilot in April and it's a dramatic series, so, if it sells, they don't let you do recurring roles on other shows - so Sophie will have to take a nosedive.

"I've been thinking about this. I went on this honeymoon with Bob Newhart, who plays my husband, and I thought, 'Maybe she'll have some hideous accident on her honeymoon!' Who knows with Sophie? Maybe they'll go and become moonies.

"She is such an indelible character, so it's not like you can have somebody else walk in and do it."
